Where is all the time?

It’s interesting, that as children we seek time to go faster.  As adults, we seek it to go much much much slower.  Maybe not want time to go as slow, but to have more of it.  I like where I am in life.  I have a job,  an apt, a car, a girlfriend.  I have all the things to live comfortably, but still a lack of time.

How do we, in this limited life span, do all the things we want to do?  Do we just settle on the fact that there isn’t enough time?  Some of my Friends say, “You’ll have so much time when you retire…”  Unfortunately, when I’m retired,  I won’t have the health to play tackle football.  I won’t be able to run a marathon.  I have to fit it in now while I can.  I’ll leave the time to retirement for the things I want to do while sitting on a porch.

Personal interests change throughout time.  When I was younger, all I wanted to do was finish all the Final Fantasy games.  Now, I want to compete in more physical feats.  I want to play hockey in the winter and football / softball in the summer.  I don’t want to spend my time inside.  The challenge is that it competes with the time outside interests require of me.  My family and girlfriend would like to see me.  I’d like to have children.

I’m learning to cope with the idea that I can only accomplish so much.  I hope that by the end of the day (each day), I’ve moved steps closer in doing as much as I can in the time that I had.

To start us off

Myself     So for some time now, I’ve been trying to come up with a great website idea to post here.  Well, as you can see, I didn’t.  Fortunately, this gives me a great opportunity for me to write about random ideas that I have.  I don’t expect many to read them, but they are there if you feel so inclined.

As you could probably guess, my name is Kurt.  No, the nickname isn’t my DJ name, although I have been called DJ Rectal Storm before (long story).  To be intentionally cliche, I thought I’d introduce myself.  I come from the midwest, growing up in a decently large city.  I had a great childhood that has let me grow to become the person I am today.  I currently have a bachelors in Computer Science and a certificate in Unix Administration.  For employment, I’m employed as a Software Developer for a growing logistics company.

My interests run far and wide.  I try to take part in anything I can.  I’m a person of experience.  One life to live, and I’m going to make it my all.  Outside of programming, I love sports, music and dining the most.

Feel free to post any comments asking me additional questions to any post I have. I am an open book.

Now that I feel as though I wrote an ad for a dating website, I must get out to shop for necessities.
